Homeschooling bench

Homeschooling workbench

The client was looking for a workbench that had options galore. That included a bench that could easily be moved, overhang so that you could sit it comfortably and be a woodworking workbench as well.

We designed a bench that has an overhang and a lower shelf, allowing seating around the bench on stools. Retractable castors allows the person working on the bench to have an entirely stable work surface, something that we have found locking castors not to give. And it is a workbench as well.

This is a great bench to sit around and do your work if you are home schooling, although it is a little bit late now for lock-down schooling (we hope).

Laundry Bench

This bench was built for a farmhouse in Victoria that was looking for an open-style, sturdy bench that they would place a sink and taps into. Timber was chosen that had less flaws and all open grain was sealed with resin. We then added more coats of oil than usual to reduce the chance of any water penetration.

We enjoyed building this bench because, although it was a simple bench to build, the finish quality had to be of the highest standard.

Kitchen bench extender on castors

The customer runs a cooking school and was looking for a way to extend their kitchen bench and have it on castors to give them flexibility when not teaching.

The solution we came up with fits on the end of the bench, where the grain of the timber flows the leg panels and top. Being 50mm thick, the bench is solid while still being easy to move on the locking castors.

The photo shows the shipping panel attached to secure the legs during transportation.
