Large storage benches such as those below can be freighted to Adjustable
View it as a carcass that can be modified to suit your own particular needs at any time. You can clamp an awkward to work item to it then change the height and angle to make your task much easier. It can have different tops or jigs clamped to it, a vice or whatever may be useful in the workshop or on the back of a service vehicle. The bench top can be set at three different heights and locked at any angle within a 300 degree range. It is kit form and can be carried to remote sites to be reassembled and serve out roles from heavy duty artists easel to a carpenters workbench. The bench top can be set at an angle to suit planing full length strokes without losing pressure at the end of the stroke. Dog holes, bench stops, vices and clamps have been fitted to the ongoing prototypes. Metal frames can be clamped upside down for welding instead of the welder having to lie underneath the workpiece where he is exposed to falling sparks and discomfort. Jarrah is a hard timber to set fire to as the outside surface quickly chars and cuts off the oxygen supply. Available in kit form, it is remarkably strong, solid and versatile. Large Storage Benches
Combination Top. In this example a half Mechanics style top, half Heavy Duty style top to suit. The left hand side of the top can be used for general purpose and woodworking with the right hand side being used for mechanical, paint or other messy jobs - it's easy to clean up on the metal surface.
A strongly mounted high backing board adds to the storage capability of this bench. The ledges allow handy storage for the customers often used screwdrivers.
The 1m wide drawers have steel sides, 19mm base and back and are fitted to 19mm thick walls. The drawers are partitioned to suit. The four large boxes slide out on two shelves fitted with runners capable of easily taking 100kg in weight. There is another smaller box inside each of the larger boxes. The smaller box holds frequently needed tools such as spanners, hammer etc while power drills and the like are stored below. The top box is lifted out allowing the user to rummage around looking for a rarely needed item. Mechanics Benches

This bench is shown without the adjustable feet that go with the All Steel benches - the feet are mounted once the bench is delivered. There are four locking cabinets with an extra half shelf inside to maximise storage under lock & key.

This all-steel bench is powder coated in Detroit Diesel corporate colours. Used as an apprentice training/demonstration bench the top overhangs evenly on all sides. The wheels lock and the two cabinets are walled off from each other. Timber Panel Storage
These custom built storage units were built to order for a farm. Each unit is 3 x 2.4 x .9m. Extra shelves can be included to suit. If a farmer prefers to arrange some of the shelves himself as he packs items away we provide all materials and the jigs that make fixing them so much easier. An alternative to consider is varying the height & width of the units which can mean easier transportation and installation. For instance a size of say 3 x 1.8 x .9m, could be "mixed & matched" by stacking one on top of the other, or used vertically to suit your ceiling height or floor area, maximising use of space. These units are much cheaper but not as strong as large metal storage systems. |
